Croydon Cycling Campaign is looking for volunteers to help run the borough's first ever International Car Free Day celebrations on Saturday, 22nd September 2001.
The all-day event being held in Fell Road will be one of hundreds taking place across Europe, and will show local people just how easy and good a car-free life can be. Key attractions will include opportunities for anyone - especially people with disabilities - to try out a range of unusual bicycles such as the the Zem (pictured below), which are being laid on by professional demonstrators, the Company of Cyclists. Music, food and other fun will be laid on.
Anyone who can spare a few hours that day to help host what promises to be a memorable event should contact Liz Mincer by telephoning 020 8681 7600 or e-mailing liz@croydon-lcc.org.uk
