In April 2002, Transport for London and London Cycling Campaign launched a series of
high-quality cycle route maps that cover the whole of Greater London, available free to the
public. Now in their 2nd edition, the London Cycle Guides are designed to be easy to read and use, based
on the familiar A-Z format and printed in colour. Routes shown by the maps include both official
London Cycle Network routes (shaded blue), and additional back street routes (shaded yellow)
suggested by members of local London Cycling Campaign groups such as Croydon Cycling Campaign.
Each map covers an area of 13.5 x 10.5 kilometres (approximately 8.5 x 6.5 miles). All maps also show an enlarged section of the West End and City on their reverse (the red area in the diagram below). They also have details of bike shops and station cycle parking.
The London Cycle Guides are free and widely available, including from selected tube stations, bus garages, health and sports centres, doctors surgeries and bike shops. You can also order them by telephone or by ordering on-line.
An easy way to get your London Cycle Guide copies is by calling the 24 hour Travel Information Line on 020 7222 1234. The maps will be delivered to you free of charge.
