Croydon Cycle Rides Diary

Croydon Cycling Campaign maintains a diary of regular rides and cycling events in and around the Croydon area, run by different local organisations.

If you want to publicise your cycling club, cycle rides or other pedal powered events in the diary then please email webmaster@croydon-lcc.org.uk.

Pollards Hill Cyclists

New rides groups that provides guided leisure rides to encourage more people to use their bikes and discover their surrounding area.

Love Yr Bike logo The group runs a popular and varied weekend programme of rides which are open to all, and particularly handy for those living in Croydon, Merton and Lambeth. Rides are free and there is no need to book. Nearest train stations are Norbury or Streatham Common.

Saturday rides 3 rides all from Coulsdon South BR station through Surrey lanes to cafe at Charlwood, 40 miles - back for lunchtime:

Just4fun group (only 13mph) - 8.55am
Easy group - 9am
Steady group - 9.15am via Partridge
Training group - 9.30am via the dual carriageway

Sunday rides 9.30am same place - hilly, medium paced rides to Westerham.

Off road rides go most Sundays 10am meeting at East Croydon - Bring helmet, pump, mars bars, water and spare tube.

MTB rides - most Thursdays leaving East Croydon station at 8pm.

Wednesday 8.30pm club night at Methodist Church Hall, Lower Addiscombe Road / Canning Road.

Anerley Bicycle Club

Enjoy sociable (30 to 50 milee at 12mph) rides along leafy lanes of Kent and Surrey, with cafe and pub stops. All standards welcome.

CTC Central London

Central London CTC organise a selection of rides every Sunday for all abilities, usually meeting at a mainline station to get a train out of town. Rides are all day, with a pub lunch, often elevenses and tea stops. Mainly on-road, but some off-road rides. No membership, but 30p contribution for admin costs. Cycling for All

Cycling for All is a project to encourage and enable cycling using tricycles, which are particularly suitable for people with disabilities and special needs. The Arena track is a safe, flat environment in which to try cycling, providing an opportunity for regular outdoor exercise in a friendly and supportive environment.

Beginners Rides

Run by South West London CTC. Contact Shirley on 020 8642 3720.
Every Saturday at 2pm from Nonsuch Park Mansion Cafe. Short, easy rides for cyclists of any age. One ride in the park grounds, others into nearby lanes.

Tandem rides for the blind

Croydon Voluntary Organisation for the Blind (CVAB) organise monthly tandem rides - anyone interested in becoming a front rider or stoker should contact Richard James on 020 8688 2486.

Cycle Group for Women

Meets monthly on the first Sunday of the month and aims to support and encourage beginners. Contact Ruth Driessler on 020 8765 0626.

CTC Croydon

We organise a run every Sunday.
We average 12mph and cover up to 90 miles in the summer and 65 miles in the winter. Our rides are normally run for the whole day with stops in the morning and afternoon for tea or coffee, and we stop at a pub at lunchtime. In the winter months we do not stop in the afternoon. If you cannot manage a whole day join us for the run to our morning tea stop. Our rides are to Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The rides normally start at Purley (for Sussex and Surrey) meeting.

Croydon Green Drinks

An informal, social group to chat about environmental, social or sustainability issues, or anything else you like! Takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6pm in The Ship, High Street, Croydon. We are the table with the pot plant!
