Purpose ---------- croydoncyclists is a news and discussion forum run by Croydon Cycling Campaign (CCC). It is an open group that welcomes anyone interested in cycling in the London Borough of Croydon, whether as a mode of transport, for pleasure or fitness. The group also serves as means to enable better communication with CCC members. 2. Membership ------------- Membership of croydoncyclists is open to anybody interested in cycling and/or the promotion of cycling within Croydon. Membership is not dependent on membership of CCC, although many members of the group may also happen to be members of CCC. Membership may be withdrawn for breaches of group etiquette, as judged collectively by the group's moderators. 3. Group etiquette ------------------ When sending messages to croydoncyclists, members should observe the following rules... * Messages must not express racist, sexist or homophobic views. * Messages should be about cycling and Croydon. * Messages should not be rabidly "anti-cycling" - there are plenty of other forums for that. * Spamming is not allowed. * Please keep quoted text to an absolute minimum. Many members choose to receive a Daily Digest of all messages in a single email - long quotes from previous posts make this hard to read and are bad manners. 4. Sending messages to the group -------------------------------- There are two ways to send a message to the group... * Email the message to: croydoncyclists@yahoogroups.com * Browse and send messages from the Yahoo Groups web site: http//groups.yahoo.com You will need a Yahoo Id to use the web to send messages. Yahoo will send details of how you can register a Yahoo Id. If you have an existing Yahoo Id you can use that. 5. Controlling messages received -------------------------------- It is possible to control the volume of email messages you receive from the group... * You can choose to receive every message as a separate email. This means you are likely to receive many emails each day. * You can choose to receive a Daily Digest - all the day's messages in a single email, with attachments removed. You can still view the attachments afterwards, on the Yahoo Groups web site. * You can choose to receive only announcements (of meeetings, events etc.) via email. This means that only announcements sent by administrators of the croydoncyclists will be received as email. Other messages can still be browsed on the Yahoo Groups web site so long as you have obtained a Yahoo Id. You can change these options by logging on with your Yahoo Id to the Yahoo Groups web site: http//groups.yahoo.com, or by emailing one of the administrators: jeremy@croydon-lcc.org.uk or austen@croydon-lcc.org.uk 6.
